Before we touch a comb, we start with a RETIE + Hair & Scalp Analysis (HASA) — a full read of what your locs and scalp actually need. From there: a wash, hair mist + moisture sealant, and a personalized haircare plan built around what we find, not a generic routine. This visit is the foundation — it’s what lets every appointment after this one run efficiently and stay accurate to your hair. On-schedule reties average 2–3 hrs; additional time is $107/hr, and hair below shoulder length is +$20. Once you’re on schedule, maintenance typically runs $214–$400+, based on loc size, density, and lifestyle. We don’t rush, and we don’t pad time — you’re paying for precision and the longevity of your hair AND scalp. Because nothing works without a healthy canvas.

Required for all new clients beginning their loc journey with Locs By Steph B. Includes a full hair and scalp assessment, discussion of your loc goals and lifestyle, method recommendation (retwist, interlocking, two strand twist, braided or crochet), and confirmation of your install pricing and timeline. If you choose to move forward the balance of $150 is due to 1) secure your install dates and 2) receive test locs. This gives us an idea of which locking pattern works best for you. Install quotes are good for 30 days. Clients are encouraged to utilize our install pricing calculator before scheduling this appointment.
